1. How can I check your stock for a particular part?

You can use our search facility on the homepage to search for parts using the part number (if you have it) or by name and part brand. If you have any problems contact our sales team who will be happy to help...by email on sales@sleeman-hawken.com or by phone on 01626 778266.

2. What if the part I need isn't in your stock list?

We can source parts for machines, both modern and vintage, so if the part isn't in stock please contact a member of the sales team who will help locate the part.

3. Can I collect parts from the depot?

Yes. If possible, please contact us beforehand so that we can correctly identify the part you require and confirm we have stock, This will save you making a wasted journey. Ideally we would take the payment over the phone so that we get the order picked and reduce contact and waiting times at our depot during the pandemic.

4. Do you fit parts?

We do not. However, we have a number of engineer contacts across the country who can help with the fitting and servicing of your engine/machine. Please contact us for details.

5. Can you provide technical support for products?

We have a wealth of experience and access to an extensive library of support documents that we can share on request. For more detailed engineering queries, we can recommend local and national firms of engineers who should be able to assist you.

6. Do you ship outside the UK?

Yes. In fact, most of our orders are for export. We ship by UPS, Fedex and DHL, depending on the needs of the customer and the destination country. For larger shipments (pallets or full containers) we have a number of freight forwarders we use to get the most competitive price for the given shipping route.

7. Are you supplying the original part, or a substitute?

We are the genuine spare parts specialists! As a rule, we will always offer the genuine factory approved part, direct from the manufacturer in genuine packaging, in the first instance. If the manufacturer lead time is long (due to Covid supply chain issues or otherwise), we will sometimes offer aftermarket alternatives to help the customer, however, this will always be cleared stated. With certain electrical items (such as starter motors, alternators etc) we will offer the customer the genuine part and an aftermarket alternative, so that you can make the most informed choice, based on stock availability and price.

8. Do the spare parts have a warranty?

Typically, our spare parts have a one year warranty, though this varies depending on the manufacturer of the part. Please contact us for specific clarification if required.

9. How do I find the number for the part I need?

If you do not know the part number you require, you can contact our helpful parts team who will discuss your requirement. It is helpful to have your engine model and serial number handy (if available), with a clear description of the part you require. Enquiries are preferred by email if possible, so that we can keep an audit trail for the enquiry, but equally we can take enquiries over the phone, which we appreciate is more convenient for customers.

10. What is a 'genuine' spare part?

A genuine spare part is a part supplied by the manufacturer of the equipment, in their packaging and is identical in fit, form, function and specification to the parts that were fitted, to the original equipment in the manufacturer's production facility. Use of genuine spare parts lengthens the life of the products they are fitted to and preserves the manufacturer's warranty.

Items can be returned. Please include a copy of the sales invoice with the return, this enables us to identify the part and process the refund. If the part has been especially ordered in, then somtimes a handling/restocking charge imposed by the manufacturer may be applicable. If it always best to contact us about a return prior to sending (please have your invoice number available when doing so).
